If you are not sure what treatment you need just book in a consultation with us and we can examine inside your ears to advise on whether you need wax removing from one, both or neither ear. We will also advise on which treatment option will work best. During the consultation we use a state of the art camera to show you inside your ear so you can see for yourself. If you don't need treatment then you only pay the consultation fee. If you need treatment we deduct the cost of the consultation from your treatment costs.

EAR IRRIGATION
£50 single ear
£70 both ears

Ear irrigation may be needed if ear drops do not work to clear a build up of ear wax from the ear. During warm water irrigation the ear canal is washed out with warm water. Irrigating the ear with water will usually clear plugs of ear wax and is a painless procedure. We recommend our patients use olive oil ear drops for 3 - 5 days before treatment to soften the wax.

EAR MICROSUCTION
£50 single ear
£70 both ears

Microsuction is one of the safest methods used to clean the ear. The treating clinician will look in your ear using an otoscope to enable assessment and treatment. A suction device is then used to clean the ear by removing the wax without the use of water. Microsuction is particularly suitable for patients who should not have water in their ears for various reasons. During assessment our clinicians will advise on the most appropriate treatment method for you.

About Us

Why Choose Us?

I started Blackwater Ear Care with a clear vision - to provide accessible, experienced and professional ear care to everyone that needs it in my local community.

Ear wax removal is no longer a service that is available on the NHS, but yet the build up of excess ear wax causes problems for many people, including common symptoms such as acute pain and hearing loss. Whilst there are others offering ear wax removal services, many lack the same clinical experience offered by Blackwater Ear Care to competently serve the needs of everyone in the community. Having worked in community nursing settings, I recognise the importance of home visits, to deliver healthcare in comfortable and familiar surroundings. This is why our services are predominantly offered in your home. Many people require the additional care and attention that traditional nursing used to provide; from the extra time needed for the elderly, to the patience required to help children, to the adjustments and understanding needed for those with physical and learning disabilities. My aim is therefore to ensure that everyone can access what they need to maintain their ear health.

For an experienced, professional, caring community ear wax removal service choose Blackwater Ear Care.

Community commitment

Our Community Commitment

We believe that all healthcare services should be offered for free under the NHS, but unfortunately ear wax removal is a service that is now rarely offered as part of the NHS service. Blackwater Ear Care's services are designed to help cover this gap and we truly wish we could offer our services for free. However, we all have to make a living, so our services have been priced to cover our costs including; travel, training, time and equipment, whilst also earning a living wage - so sadly we just can't offer our services for free. However, if you or a member of your family are in need of ear care and are worried about the costs please do get in touch and let us know as there are a few options we have to help. We would never want to see our friends and neighbours suffering and struggling to access the care they need.

FAQs

Where do I need to go for my appointment?

We offer a mobile ear care service only and so do not have a physical clinic location. Please provide the address you wish our clinician to attend when making your booking.

Do you provide a service for children?

Yes. We are able to undertake ear wax removal for children.

Is there anything I need to do before my appointment?

Prior to your appointment you will be required to complete a patient consent form. You will be emailed a link to complete the form prior to your appointment. If a consent form isn't completed prior to your appointment our clinician will complete this with you when they arrive.

If possible, please apply olive oil ear drops to the affected ear/s for 2-3 days prior to your appointment. Olive oil drops can be purchased from your local pharmacy. However, it is not essential to apply these prior to your appointment for successful ear wax removal.
